Hello
I had the same problem which was solved in the list
some time ago.THe solution lies in copying the
following script named Acroread.sh to the directory
"Acrobat5" :

  ' #!/bin/bash
   ## $(HOME)/bin/acroread
   export LANG=en_US
   export LC_ALL=en_US
   #/usr/local/Acrobat4/bin/acroread $*
   /usr/local/Acrobat5/bin/acroread $*
This works well.Please try out.
