I think it replaced kdm with gdm.
edit /etc/sysconfig/desktop and change DISPLAYMANAGER="GNOME"
or if you mainly use KDE its better to stick with kdm and you can customize it 
similarly by using kcontrol and selecting Login Manager or su to root and 
type "kcmshell kdm"
