I use Webmin to add permanent mount points, under "System", "Disk &
Network Filesystems", there's a convenient graphical interface to update
your fstab from there so it will mount various filesystem types including
smbfs (Windows Networking).

smb:///
It brings up a window of workgroups, where you can navigate accessible
windows shares
many other ways, but that's a gui way i use frequently.
