Thanks for the reply Clint, 

I got mysqld: unrecognized service when I entered that. I don't see it in
chkconfig --list either

I believe I may need to do a "make" or run some type of install "script"
next. Im cruising google to see what I can find. The mysql.com doc page is
putting me to sleep.
