Hi,

I thought I'd share my solution for this little problem I had, just in
case anyone else finds themselves in that situation:

I have a Windows XP machine, hosting a HP LaserJet 1000 (win)printer on
USB. I needed to print remotely to it via CUPS (there are tedious
work-related reasons why the Fedora box can't be a print server). The
route that eventually worked was to share the printer in XP using
Microsoft File and Printer Sharing in the usual way, and to make a new
queue via SMB with the printconf-gui tool (and an appropriate username
and password on the XP box), using the foo2zjs driver. However, for
this to work properly, the latest foo2zjs driver had to be installed
from http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/ as the foo2zjs supplied with FC1 did not
work at all.

Prior to this simple solution, I sourced several solutions from the web,
including suggestions to redirect printing on the XP box via ghostscript
and connecting via LPD - none of which worked for me (except
instructions to use the generic LaserJet driver, whose maximum dpi was
poor).

Out of interest, is the latest foo2zjs driver included in FC2? I've
been up2dating regularly, and apparently foo2zjs hadn't been updated.
