Did you read the original post?

1) FC1 kernel is not too big for a disk - you mean probably (upcoming,
now testing) FC2
while the problem was fixed creating a smaller ram disk image, which
goes to a boot disk too and in his case made the whole package too big
for a floppy disk

2) a small /boot partition does not help if the motherboard BIOS does
not manage big harddrive capacities
