I tried to use the version 2.4.x and the 2.5.0 of Downloader for X but I cannot get it to work... In fact, as soon as I opened it close itself...
Is someone managed to use it? Or use another software??

I am running the version from yarrow.freshrpms.net and it's working quite well.

I have the same problem using gnome, but it works fine with Xfce. I asume there is a conflict with the graphical engine of gnome and X Downloader.
