Old Compaq laptop Monitor Help

Hey guys,

 

I’ve installed fedora on an old laptop however the monitor wasn’t recognized by the installer so I selected just a generic 800x 600 monitor. Unfortunately, when I boot the machine I get an error message ‘cannot open virtual console 7’  and the system tries to redetect my monitor.  I know my monitor is a Display Assy, SVGA, 12.1” CTFT does anyone know of a monitor type close to it that will work.
