All you need is the modutils from Arjanv > repository (http://people.redhat.com/arjanv/2.5/). I regard the distribution -- Fedora 1 or 2 -- and the kernel as more or less orthogonal. I'm surprised this point of view is apparently so rare, at least on this mailing list. If a distribution really forced me to use a particular kernel I would move to another distribution. I'm sure the Arjanv kernel is excellent, but I prefer to follow Linus Torvalds. As far as I could see, one has to install module-init-tools if one wants to compile and install a 2.6.* kernel.
