ok update... seems what i tested this on was a huge coincidence, but i
had two files (the two files i first tested on) that had the same exact
effect. other files do not. is it a corrupt file problem? i can send one
file (the ibm thinkpad) but not the other (company confidential) for
others to test with. but it's strange that it only happens when zooming
out.
