A month later, I still cannot find Gnome 2.4.2 packages in either
updates or updates-testing. Is there a RPM repository somewhere that
would have Gnome 2.4.2 packages and be consistent with the official
Fedora updates? I have found some places that have 2.4.2, but the set
of Gnome RPMs never seems to be complete and in many places there are
some RPMs that are older than the Fedora Core release or update
packages.

Does the Fedora project have any intentention of supporting stable
Gnome bugfix releases? 2.4.2 has some important bugfixes, and it seems
very hard to get them, if you do not want to use some random RPMs from
some random web site. (I'm starting to wonder if the merging of
fedora.us and Red Hat Linux was such a good idea after all; it seems
that the advantages of the original Fedora project were lost. Getting
e.g. consistent and easily upgradeable RPMs for mp3 support seems to
have become harder, too.)
