      Go to Menu->System Configuration->Login Screen ( is the gdmsetup
program )

      Go to Security TAB. Uncheck 'Never permit TCP connections... bla, bla
...'

Save changes, of course. Reload gmd and try again

Anyway, xhost was done and we get that error. I might add that he uses
rlogin and refuses to use ssh. Some people are hard to change. The host
he wants to do this to is a RH6.2 machine. He wants to attach to it from
Fedora.
Steve Bergman sent another option to try. Though the instructions for
the host machine was for Fedora, it gives us else something to check.
