I saw a bugzilla number and discussion pass by but cannot find it.  It
had to do with the comparison of numbers and letters when sorting
versions.

To understand the issue see the -n option to sort (but it looks as if
it is more involved than just the problem -n solves for sort).

It is apparently a reoccurring issue and may have more to do with the
packagers choice of version-names than up2date.

This is an OLD bug that smells the same.
