My problem was some emulation does not seem to work right on my VT100 terminal and under screen-3.9.15-11. Worked well under 7.3 and 7.2. The resolution ended up being that the Wyse/VT100 terminal and screen did not like en_US.UTF-8 in the LANG variable. LANG="en_US.UTF-8" to LANG=en_US I did not have a chance to test with the VMS app yet, but all signs look good.
