The VMware ethernet driver is pcnet32. However, don't make life harder for yourself -- just set the VMware virtual CD to point to the image of the first Fedora CD and boot. When the Fedora installation wants you to change CDs, just change the CD image that VMware uses. This is what I did last time I installed Fedora in a VMware virtual machine. jch
