btw does Fedora Core 1 boot disk can read *.iso images from fat partitions. if the *.iso passed md5sum then you could make ext2 partition (or maybe use existing fat), burn only boot disk http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/1/i386/os/images/boot.iso when running setup chose install from hard drive and point to the partition containing isos. it worked for me.
