For future reference you may want to check out the
/usr/src/<kernel-version>/configs directory. It has all the config
files for different architectures.

Thanks Scott..

I was using the kernel source from kernel.org not from the SRPM that comes with FC.. I am trying to see if an SMP kernel built from kernel.org source is as unstable as the FC SMP kernels..

Cool.. so do I just copy it to the /usr/src/linux-<version>/ directory and rename it to .config?

Ok, so it was suggested to me to have a go at compiling an SMP kernel from the source's from kernel.org.. I was told to get the FC .config file to use with the kernel.org source..

Where would I find the .config file? and once I have it where do I put it?

( I am sure its pretty obvious I have not done this before )
