gnumeric - does it work?

i run fc1 and installed gnumeric from rpm (gnumeric-1.2.1-1.i386.rpm) but
it hangs

strace gnumeric gives

i'm on a dhcp lan and the last ip address is not mine (xx and yy above are
numbers)

any ideas?
