I have download the jre extension for firefox, but now, on the estensions tab, there isn't an option to install an extension from the hard drive. How can I do that? Is there a way?

One note - if firefox is installed system-wide, you'll need to install extensions and the like as root.
As for Java, I usually install the Java RPM, then copy (symlink) the plugin from plugins/i386/nss610-gcc32/* to %firefoxdir%/plugins - same for Flash.
