BANG!!!: immediate Kernel panic with 2.4.22-1.2174.nptl

Hi

I upgraded to kernel-2.4.22-1.2174.nptl after it showed up on both the
Fedora site and some mirrors this morning and was signaled by up2date.
Unfortunately it doesn't even boot! I get an almost instantaneous kernel
panic at boot (Dell Latitude D800, Centrino 1.7 GHz).

It is difficult to catch the messages on the screen, however
most of them refer to "acpi_irq" and the last lines read:

Code : 0f b6 54 1a 1b 01 e8 01 d0 50 8b 46 10 01 f8 50 e8 c2 00 00
<0> Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
In interrupt handler - not syncing

I am surprised since I understood 2174 was only a fix for the aacraid
unresolved symbol issue wrt 2173 and under 2173 I can boot flawlessly
(apart the unrelsoved symbol messages)

I hate to appear critical, but I somewhat feel that the latest kernel
updates have been rushed out without enough testing.

I already bugzilla'd this as:

                       Ciao
                   Alfredo Ferrari
