Now I get:

[root@dali root]# ntpdate -d 172.17.1.251

after starting the ntpd "/etc/init.d/ntpd start"

my ntp-Clients can't sync there time:

[root@dali greinick]# ntpdate 172.17.1.251
17 Feb 12:26:09 ntpdate[19460]: no server suitable for
synchronization found

So any ideas what's wrong or should be tested?

The server must run for a while before it can provide time to clients. Use "ntpdate -d" to get diagnostic output.
