dovecot is substantially lower in overhead than uw imap as well... The imap server that's being removed is the UW-imap server due to some license issues.. Dovecot and cyrus-imapd are available . I've set up a full mail server on FC1 using squirrelmail , postfix and dovecot on my home machine (just for practice) and it worked perfectly. Squirrelmail has on its configuration some special tricks when dealing with certain imap servers..
