Up2date downloaded the kernel installed it but hung at the end and
did'nt complete,on checking /boot there was'nt a 2166.nptl.img file
and no entry in grub.conf for the kernel.
So I removed the kernel and D/L from my mirror a new one installed
rpm -ivh and the same problem,so I used the command "mkinitrd /boot/
initrd-2.4.22-1.2166.nptl.img 2.4.22-1.2166.nptl" and it hung,then I
added 'strace' and below is the last few lines of a long output.

Any one able to help get this kernel up
Thanks david
Additional info : I ran top and umount was a runaway 95% cpu.
Probably caused by the install of kernel-2.4.22-1.2166-initrd.img
is this a possible bug or existing bug.
