Now as soon as I downgraded I was notified about pending updates. Reupgrading gnome-panel and logging in did not make this notification disappear. I am a bit confused. Did the notification tool "got stuck" due to the upgrade, or were these upgrades made available in the channel at the same time I downgraded? Curious.
