Looks like the article was written by someone who is a debian fan....
Let's face it.. .DEB and .RPM are only packaging systems.. both have their advantages and problems..
And usually the debian fans like to hit RH for its decisions (like backporting NPTL to 2.4 kernels) , saying that this hurts compatibility... Yes , it hurts compatibility if the software you're using is 2 years old (like the ones available in debian "stable") and you try to make it work on a system which has everything updated....
