When tried to go to any website, getting alert "The connection was
refused when attempting to contact www.google.com"
When I issued "ping www.google.com" I got "Connect: Network is unreadchable"

I can pint 192.168.1.1 (The router ) successively.
The firewall is turned off.
This FC1 is a fresh installation.
This machine works on w2k,
This machine also worked on Red Hat 9 before this new FC1 installation.
This machine has fix ip add 192.168.1.222, the router (gateway) is
192.168.1.1 and I can ping it without failure.
can any one provide some steps to diagnose this ? Tks a lot.

Check your /etc/resolv.conf file for proper DNS entries.

Have checked /etc/resolv.conf and every dns add are per ISP provided,
can't see anything wrong.

Can you ping ip-addresses outside the router?

The fact is that the gateway setting is missing(My mistake) when I issued "route -n", after I put it  back the browser now works perfect! Tks to all helpers.
