So I went into RedHat->System Settings->Printing and checked all the settings. It's a locally-connected HP LaserJet 6L and everything there looks normal to me:
Queue Type is Locally-connected, /dev/lp0 Printer driver is HP LaserJet 6L
I've tried /sbin/service cups start and that gets me a [OK] as a response.
I've tried rebooting.
I've google'd for the errors that I'm getting and found a note about a potential conflict with symbolic links, but wasn't clear if that was my problem.
Here are the errors that I'm seeing:
Say I want to print a file that I saved from mozilla, here is the output:
[clint@localhost clint]$ lpr mozilla.ps lpr: error - scheduler not responding!
When I try to print a test page I get this error:
There was a problem sending CUPS test page to 'printer' queue:
lpr: unable to print file: server-error-service-unavailable
I'm fairly sure that there is some sort of conflict that has happened when I removed the router and attempted to return this machine back to its prior state, but I simply am at a total loss about what to do now.
I sure could use help for what to do to fix this printing!
Thanks, Clint
