Hi,
have you tried the rpms from ATrpms? I don't use them myself, but the
mplayer and win32codec packages might be what you're looking for.

See http://atrpms.physik.fu-berlin.de/ or
http://apt.physik.fu-berlin.de/fedora/1/en/i386/at-testing/RPMS/ (for the
actual rpms).
