Maybe https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=102272 is
helpful. And the tip to export the proxy settings:

export http_proxy=http://proxy:port
export proxy_user=username
export proxy_passwd=password

Maybe - if those are helpful - put them into your ~/.xinitrc.
