Hi, i tried to plug my usb palm on fedora with a 2.6.1 kernel and i got the following error message typing dmesg.
I previously included rtc support in the kernel so that i don't get any error about char-major-10-135, but this one remains.

Can someone help me ???

Thx a lot.

Here's a sample of what i get with dmesg :

/hub 2-0:1.0: new USB device on port 2, assigned address 3
request_module: failed /sbin/modprobe -- char-major-188-0. error = 256
request_module: failed /sbin/modprobe -- char-major-188-0. error = 256
.....................
.....................
request_module: failed /sbin/modprobe -- char-major-188-0. error = 256
request_module: failed /sbin/modprobe -- char-major-188-0. error = 256
usb 2-2: USB disconnect, address 3
request_module: failed /sbin/modprobe -- char-major-162-0. error = 256
updfstab: numerical sysctl 1 23 is obsolete.
/

I came back to 2.4.22 provided with the distribution and it works fine.
Kernel 2.4.24 seemed to be a bit buggy too, i couldn't do anything with usb...
