Kernel 2.6.0-1.37 hang on boot w/ Fusion MPT SCSI driver

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Kernel 2.6.0-1.30 was (and is) working fine on this FC1 development box with an LSI 53C1030 SCSI controller. The driver is the "Fusion MPT SCSI". Then starting w/ .37 and continuing now with 2.6.1-1.43 it hangs on boot. I suspect the driver is OOPsing. It reconizes the controller and identifies all the sda partitions and then just sits there reporting a periodic:

mptscsih: ioc0: >> Attempting task abort! (sc=f7170864, numIOs=1)
mptscsih: ioc0: >> Attempting target reset! (sc=f7170864, numIOs=1)
...
...

etc. and requiring a power cycle to reset. Same result w/ 'noapic'

Any insights / work arounds before I bugzilla?

Thanks,
Mark

PS -
For whats its worth, here are the details on this box reported by the (working) 2.6.0-1.30 kernel:
