Yes, and right now both are as shipped:  in /etc/init.d/functions,
ulimit is used to set coredump size limit to 0 for daemons;  and
/etc/profile also sets it to 0 for sh/bash scripts.  I've not changed
these.  Which makes it doubly puzzling that CROND sits forever in state
'coredump'.
