Evolution does threads nicely. I just dislike mouse interfaces
for most things. It also wants to put junk down in ~/.evolution/

However I love the way mutt does threads!
In my .muttrc file
   set sort=threads
   unset strict_threads # same? as set nostrict_threads

mutt also understands how to sort at two levels
so subject first and date second is possible like
this.
   set sort=subject
   set sort_aux=date

Hmm... it may be time to hack on pine and add
a new sort option.
