Using iwconfig, enter the MAC address of the AP node you want to connect. Scanning doesn't appear to be available. I try "ap any", but that didn't work for me. 2. Also, using iwconfig, add the ESSID and as many of the other paramaters that you can. I did it one parameter at a time. 3. Make sure that you configure the rate as open and the mode as "managed." use ipconfig eth[x] down, then ipconfig eth[x]. You can monitor signal strength in /proc/net/wireless. If you are seeing packets received and sent, then you need to see if your AP uses encryption.
