In particular, I first got started with it using information in the article "OpenLDAP Everywhere" which you can read on line at http://www.linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=6266. Recently, I've also gotten much useful information from the last several articles by Mick Bauer. These last are available free on line at http://www.linuxjournal.com/ Do a search on Bauer from the home page and his articles come up, including the recent LDAP ones.
