It would help greatly if you mention exactly what brand and model printer it is! <G>
| |the borderless feature is not working. My picture is in 4x6 format and I am |using the gimp-print as recommended. In the preview I can see the pictures |100% |filled up the printing area but when I print I got the border on left and |the |bottom. This is just "shooting in the dark", but perhaps it might give you some direction in which to go towards a solution to the problem. *My* printer is an HP Deskjet 3420. Borderless printing is actually NOT a feature of this printer, yet I got a similar result today whilst "playing around" with sending a print job in The Gimp.
My paper stock is 7" x 8.5", and initially I tried playing around with the paper sizes in redhat-printer configuration. However, my more successful result was when I left the default printer setup as "letter" ( 8.5" x11"). In Gimp, I chose Print --> Printer Settings. Then I switched "Media size" from "letter" to custom, and fiddled with various paper sizes.
At one point I got a similar result as you did: there was white space around three sides of the paper, but the print went right to the fourth edge (effectively a "borderless" side). I even tried setting the custom size to _less than_ the paper size (7"x 8.5"), and also experimented with loading the paper either lengthways, or sideways. I have not succeeded in obtaining a borderless print, but this indicates that it might be feasible, even with a printer which is not normally expected to do borderless prints.
I hope this is of some help to you...
Elton ;-)
