OK, here we go again. I found that if I tried to burn DVD+Rs with k3b using files > 2GB then everything seemed to work fine but the file when read back was truncated to a few MB and unusable. I made another DVD+R with the file split into 2GB chunks and it worked! I could read back the DVD, test the file OK and everything was sweet. I made a second DVD+R and the system refused to mount it. "mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom, or too many mounted file systems" I reloaded my first one and got the same problem! Cannot read it back either. WTF? Looking in /var/log/messages I see this when I have the DVDs in the drive: Jan 8 06:29:33 Peter kernel: attempt to access beyond end of device Jan 8 06:29:33 Peter kernel: 0b:00: rw=0, want=34, limit=2 Jan 8 06:29:33 Peter kernel: isofs_read_super: bread failed, dev=0b:00, iso_blknum=16, block=16 Jan 8 06:29:33 Peter kernel: attempt to access beyond end of device Jan 8 06:29:33 Peter kernel: 0b:00: rw=0, want=34, limit=2 Jan 8 06:29:33 Peter kernel: isofs_read_super: bread failed, dev=0b:00, iso_blknum=16, block=16 Jan 8 06:29:34 Peter kernel: attempt to access beyond end of device Jan 8 06:29:34 Peter kernel: 0b:00: rw=0, want=34, limit=2 Jan 8 06:29:34 Peter kernel: attempt to access beyond end of device Jan 8 06:29:34 Peter kernel: 0b:00: rw=0, want=626, limit=2 Jan 8 06:29:34 Peter kernel: attempt to access beyond end of device Jan 8 06:29:34 Peter kernel: 0b:00: rw=0, want=514, limit=2 Jan 8 06:29:34 Peter kernel: UDF-fs: No partition found (1) Jan 8 06:29:34 Peter kernel: attempt to access beyond end of device Jan 8 06:29:34 Peter kernel: 0b:00: rw=0, want=34, limit=2 Any ideas? Could this be cause I built the system with a CD-RW drive and later replaced it with a DVD+RW drive and I need to change some system parameter on the drive config? -- Regards, +-----------------------------+---------------------------------+ | Peter Kiem .^. | E-Mail : <zordah@xxxxxxxxxx> | | Zordah IT /V\ | Mobile : +61 0414 724 766 | | IT Consultancy & /( )\ | WWW : www.zordah.net | | Internet Services ^^-^^ | ICQ : "Zordah" 866661 | +-----------------------------+---------------------------------+ My current spamtrap address is est1203@xxxxxxxxxx
