I checked with the usb flash disk and the results are below:

The first part is the messages I get when inserting the flash disk; the second, when I insert the USB HDD. Strangely, using the same usb-storage driver, I am able to read the usb flash disk but not the USB hard drive.
 
This is very strange indeed. Any suggestions on where the problem might be?
