This doesn't mean the packages have already been updated.  It means
you've told up2date not to update the kernel.  Use 'up2date -u -f' to
force the kernel update.  Or if you want a normal up2date to do the
kernel updates too, edit the file /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date and comment
out the line

pkgSkipList=kernel*;

by putting a # in front of it.
