For me adding the following line to /etc/modprobe.conf did the trick, then either reboot or modprobe usb-controller to get usb working:On Jan 3, 2004 at 13:43, Ernest L. Williams Jr. in a soothing rage wrote:
Hi,
I just went to the kernel 2.6.0-1-109 under Fedora CORE Release 1.
My Logitech OPTICAL USB WHEEL Mouse no longer works. Can someone tell
me how to get this going again?
Mine does. There are problems with wheel rodents and the 2.6 kernels. Search http://www.kerneltrap.org/ for more info. My grub.conf has the following line:
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.0-1.109 ro root=LABEL=/ psmouse_noext=1
My thoughts are the 'psmouse_noext=1' should help you out.

If you have usb 2.0 use this line instead: alias usb-controller uhci-hcd
