I was able to put the iso images on a disk.  with RH9, you can boot linux from fd0.  Linux install asks where the iso images are.  you tell them the directory.  I put them in a DOS directory.  I am pretty sure this wlould also work with a Linux directory.  You can also install from another computer; but aparently my NIC card is not one of the standard NIC cards.  I used rawrite (DOS utility) but you should also be able to do Linux DD.  Rawrite is on Disk1, in DOSUTILS.  The fd0 boot images are on Disk1, directory: images.

I tried to do this with Fedora, but I get:  "Boot failed, please change disks and press a key to continue."

Any one know how to do this with Fedora?

Subject: Installing Fedora from ISO Images

I am currently running Windows XP / Mandrake 9.1 on a Dell Inspiron 5100. I was planning on upgrading to Mandrake 9.2 (mainly for ACPI) and decided to give Fedora a try. Well that's the preample. But, here is the catch. I didn't pay for the external floppy drive, or a CD writer. So, I've downloaded the ISO images, I have verified the MD5SUM, I can even mount the images and view the files inside. But as far as I can tell, without writing the images to a CD, it appears that I can't do anything usefull with them. It seems like it should be possible to mount the images during the install process, instead of the CD-ROM. Has anyone ever tried that?

Thanks,
