Get the SRPM (.src.rpm) for Evolution from the Fedora CDs (cd4-6).

Ximian gives away rpm's from their site as well - have you given those a
shot?

RH9 provided an older version of Evolution - its 1.4.5 now on FC1.
Possibly, there are different dependencies set for it as well (Evolution
has a lot, trust me!).
