I had absolutely no problem on an 8200 with VMWare and FC1. If you don't do

CC=gcc23 vmware-config.pl

you get warnings that may or may not matter, I ran it successfully without doing the CC= bit for some time before I bacame aware of that workaround for the compiler mismatch and reconfigured it.
