PHP is a"server side" scripting language.
That means that the php engine sits on the server.

Here is the standard php code to test the server.
<? phpinfo(); ?>

Here is a sample page link: http://www.dblsys.ca/phpinfo.php

This page tells you the php engine is installed and working fine.
