Hi
I'm trying to install Fedora Core 1 on a Dell GX150 desktop computer. But then Anaconda tries to start I get the following error:
error 2 reading header: cpio: Bad magic error 2 reading header: cpio: Bad magic error 2 reading header: cpio: Bad magic
Lower on the screen I get the following
Running anaconda, the Fedora Core system installer - please wait... exec of anaconda failed: Bad adressinstall exited abnormally sending termination signals...done sending kill signals...done
some more text about shutting down and then finally
you may safely reboot your system...
AND yes I have tested the media and I have used it to install on another computer.
Anyone else having these problems????

Hi Johan,
I got exactly the same anaconda error when I tried to install on a Dell OptiFlex GX260 but I didn't get the cpio error.
I had checked the MD5sum of the iso images and done a media check.
Now for the "solution". I had been busy at work, so after the install failed, I didn't do anything for about 2 days. I was going to try the CDs that I had made on a different computer but then decided to give it one one atttempt on the Dell. It worked.
Nothing had changed. I didn't even take the CD out of the drive. I guess these Dell computers need a little time to get used to running a new OS Steve Blackwell.
