I had similar problem... What I did was to clean the CD, run the cdrom check at boot time before installing. Everything was ok and I continue without any problem.

If you actually had the ISO images on this computer,
it would have been easier to install from the hard drive

I've had the same problem. I have made two copies of CD's for Fedora Core 1 and have used both to install on other machines. The CD's are fine... however, on one machine, when I start the installation process, it happens just like described above,

1. I boot from the CD rom and begin installation

2. From the prompt, selected Local Cdrom as location of core media.

3. Fedora Core CD was not found in any cdrom drives. Please insert the Fedora Core CD and press OK.

In otherwords, on BOOT the CD ROM is recognized, but when Anaconda is running, it is not recognized.

Any suggestions?
