I had a problem with this until I noticed that the location of gpilotd
had changed and my login script wasn't properly starting it.

'locate gpilotd' found it and, after changing the script, it works much
more reliably than under RHL-9.  However, it still doesn't sync when I
push the button on the cradle.  I have to press the virtual button on
the M-130 screen in the hotsync application.
