I thought the idea of yum was to allow distributed repositories and easy mirroring. It seems that specific yum.conf files are being posted, all hitting one or two mirrors, which are then inevitably swamped so up2date then fails for everyone. I've seen a YUM mirror guide but have not gotten it working yet.
