Hi Tom, I too experienced the same problem trying to install FC1 on an IBM Thinkpad R30. Although my CD's were good, the media check failed on the R30. When I proceeded to install I got the out of disk space error or a failure on a certain package. Also, as you mentioned, all previous linux installations went well on this machine. I finally went the network install route, booted from CD1, typed linux askmethod at the prompt, and did a successful network install. I don't know why the CD install failed.
