Hi there! I am running both KDE and gnome and I wonder about the concept of the menus in general or how applications:/// (gnome) is connected to applink-redhat (KDE) There has been a lot of talk about gnome already, I know how to customize the menus. But still there are some difficulties: Install mosfed-liquid (theme for KDE), which adds a control center applet for Look&Feel/liquid. The commandline "kcmshell look&feel/liquid" from the shortcut does not work, because the shortcut is added to "more Applications" instead of "Preferences/Look&Feel". In Gnome I have Sound & Video -> CDplayer, wich opens gnome cd player. In KDE I have KsCD in the same place, this is exactly, what I want to achieve: When there is an equivalent for the gnome program, it should be replaced. Kopete instead of Gaim in KDE, Kmix instead of gmix and so on, the other should appear as an alternative in "more Applications". Any ideas? So ist there a way to edit the menus system wide (all users, both kde and gnome)? What process updates /usr/share/applnk-redhat? Any customization of the directory were gone after a reboot. Christoph
